Obama Spending Cuts Have Come Too Late In His Presidency

The Problem With Procrastination

Barack Obama

On Wednesday, November 9, 2011, U.S. President Barack Obama signed a measure to cut costs in the government, bypassing Congress in doing so. It was ushered in by a televised press conference. However, the Judiciary Report would like to point out, for the past 3 years, the site has done articles illustrating the need for the government to make budget cuts (even in the area of travel, as Obama went on to state on Wednesday, November 9, 2011).

President Obama should not have waited three years, when over $200 billion dollars could have been saved already, had he implemented cuts of this kind, when he took office. However, he went into office with the wrong mindset - spend, spend, spend - when it should have been cut, cut, cut.

President Obama

Whether one is working with a big or small budget, with deficits or surpluses, one should always have the mindset of conservation. It’s a good and positive way to stay ahead in government, by using sound judgment and thrift. The words government and luxury should never go hand in hand. Public service entails sacrifice. It should never be accompanied by the trappings of wealth on the taxpayers dime.

Obama orders agency spending cuts on travel, technology and swag

Posted at 06:00 AM ET, 11/09/2011 - President Obama is ordering steep spending cuts that will mean less travel for federal employees and strict limitations on government-issued computers, printers, vehicles — and even office swag.

The White House said Obama will sign an executive order Wednesday requiring federal agencies to make 20 percent spending cuts on travel, equipment and technology, a move that should save billions of dollars annually, according to a senior administration official familiar with the plans.

Wednesday’s order is another step in the White House’s goal of identifying bite-sized initiatives that don’t require congressional approval and demonstrate unilateral actions taken by Obama to jumpstart the economy and curtail federal spending. It is also part of the administration’s ongoing Campaign to Cut Waste launched over the summer during the contentious debt negotiations to demonstrate the administration’s willingness to make spending cuts...

President Barack Obama Being Blamed For The Enormous Failure Of The Debt Supercommittee

Barack Obama

Everyone from Former Democrat turned independent, Michael Bloomberg to Republican Mitt Romney, are blaming U.S. President Barack Obama for the failure the supercommittee, which will have far reaching consequences. Politicians and pundits are stating, President Obama deliberately kept them at arms length and did not get involved very much, seeking to distance himself from the committee.

Many are stating as president, Obama should have played a greater role in getting the job done, but shirked his duties for political reasons, which led to the committee's well-publicized failure. At the end of the day, the committee was too much hype and too little action. Nothing was accomplished, but the overblown mess certainly cost the taxpayers.

Economists Forecast Obama Will Not Fix The U.S. Economy By The 2012 Election

Barack Obama

The Conference Board has predicted that U.S. President Barack Obama will not be able to turn the economy around before the next election in 2012, via chief economist Bart van Ark's pronouncement, "We are not going to see the recovery that we expect in 2013 to 2016."

Van Ark cites high unemployment and skyrocketing deficits as the main culprit. This has created slow growth that has not been remedied. Van Ark is of the belief America will not return to the growth or employment levels the nation enjoyed prior to the financial crisis. America can recover, but only with the right president that knows that he is doing in the area of economics.

Obama "Seeking To Capitalize" On "Occupy Wall Street" Protests For His Campaign

Reports state U.S. President Barack Obama is attempting to capitalize on the "Occupy Wall Street" protestors and their pertinent and relevant message. However, President Obama needs to realize that sadly, he is apart of the problem. Former President George W. Bush started this crisis, but President Obama has propagated. He has given hundreds of billions of dollars in taxpayer money to multinational U.S. banks, financial institutions and other corporations, who are hoarding the money.

Barack Obama

Obama needs to do his part in either getting that taxpayer money back or using legislation and the Justice Department to legally compel said corporations to invest the stimulus funds via hiring new employees and or adding new product lines, to stimulate growth. Hoarding is a massive road block to recovery and as the Judiciary Report stated over two years ago, proper controls need to be placed on stimulus funds, but the government simply did not do this.

Vice President Joe Biden and President Barack Obama

As a result, the taxpayers are getting burned in this bad deal. The IRS has not done enough to close loopholes in the tax code and taxes on the rich need to experience a small increase. It will raise billions of dollars towards hiring more unemployed people and reducing the deficit. Getting America out of this financial hole is not complicated. These measures have worked for other national and international governments in the past. Congress just does not want to do it.

Are Obama's Speeches Getting Through To The Public

...After 2 Years And 9 Months Of Economic Chaos And Falling Numbers

Left to right: Vice President Joe Biden, House Speaker John Boehner and President Barack Obama, who is not looking very happy

Are U.S. President Barack Obama's speeches getting through to the populace and is he giving too many of them, too often, to no effect. Last night, the President gave a televised speech on the terrible unemployment crisis in America, stating he is seeking the passage of another legislative bill, with a hefty price tag of $450 billion dollars, to create new jobs.

The proposed bill will use taxpayer money to kick start the economy and Obama is already blaming the Republicans if it doesn't pass Congress, when he's already been given several hundred billion dollars to accomplish said goal, once again, to no effect.

We've heard all this before from Obama...repeatedly. It is more of the same. Yet, none of the spending is working, because the Obama Administration's fiscal plans lack economic discipline, controls and proper taxes, particularly on the rich. It is and will be money going down the drain on corporate hoarders, who have exhibited a great disdain for the middle class and poor.

Obama Sends U.S. Debt To All Time High

Debt Skyrockets Under President Obama Surpassing $10 Trillion

Barack Obama

For the first time in history, U.S. debt has topped $10 trillion dollars, up 59% under President Obama. In the midst of all Washington's spending, based on the reasoning President Obama set forth over two years ago, calculated expenditures would (allegedly) stimulate and boost the economy, spurring job growth. However, it has not and to terrible results. For the first time since 1945, U.S. job growth is at 0%, which is breathtakingly bad.

The government has also dipped into Social Security funds, which is not a good thing. According to CNS News, "The 'intragovernmental' debt is money the Treasury has borrowed out of government trust funds—including the Social Security trust fund—to use on federal expenses other than those the trust funds were set up to cover." This is a disaster in the making. Why is this being allowed.
