Army veteran, J.R. Martinez, who took one for the team in Iraq, during a terrible injury that left him with burns to over 40 percent of his body, took home the Mirror Ball trophy, winning "Dancing with the Stars" Series 13. He deserved the win, as not only can he dance, he persevered through injury near the end of the competition as well. I admire his positive attitude. Congrats!
Today is Veterans Day in America. It is a day to honor the troops that serve and have served in the U.S. Army. The government should also use this day to reflect on the high personal cost of war, in terms of human lives. It's time to end all the wars and bring the soldiers back to America to their families.
It is a tremendous sacrifice that exacts a serious physical and emotional toll on a soldier and as you know, many do not make it back. The anxiety of separation for soldiers and their families is also a very difficult thing to deal with. Return them to their normal lives. The Judiciary Report's message to the government today is more peace and less war. It is not worth people dying for.
